Hi, I'm Alexis, writing for the people of the Internet. Most of the costume guides on Costumet started the same way: me, a stack of comics, and a movie paused on the exact frame with the jacket I wanted to figure out. I love comics, movies and anything with a character worth dressing up as, and I can't watch a good one without wondering how I'd put the look together.
I write for people who don't sew and don't have a big budget, because that's how most of us actually do costumes. Every guide starts with clothes you can buy or already own, then shows the small changes that turn an ordinary outfit into the character. I always point you to where to find each piece, too, so you're not left hunting for it. Nothing beats watching someone walk into a party and get recognized straight away.
